Thank you, sorry for just dropping by with this. I know it’s poor form. I’ve been staying away a bit because I feel like a swirling vortex of doom but apparently I can’t resist. God.

Totally! I also know how lucky we are to be where we are so I’m torn between feeling anguished about my personal circumstances and then self indulgent for that so it’s all excellent and going really well here, definitely.

Cluef, I am sorry you’re being passed from pillar to post - it is ridiculous to think a vulnerable child is unable to get vaccinated because the govt goes la la la. I hope you are able to see your grandma, and don’t think (or feel) you can’t pop here whenever you want

It is utterly, utterly shit cloof. I’m sorry there is so little support and care and effective guidance. I hope pete is ok.

It looks like we are reopening the office in a month’s time so the 50% in office requirement will start then. Except if you have a kid or are a caregiver. Then you aren’t required to meet the 50% in office presence :perky:

That’s not very inclusive of them, Epp (although I think it’s great that they’re offering more flexibility for parents and other care-givers).

Could you try your local MP, ClueF? Ours is quite good at getting involved in this type of thing. I hope you can get it sorted quickly.

Thank you. That’s a good suggestion, Ashley. I could try. He absolutely makes my skin crawl so I might send him some hate mail if I don’t get anywhere soon.

Try him, and then if he doesn’t help, hate mail is absolutely the way to go

So, so sorry about the situation with your grandma, cloof. That is heartbreaking.

I would also be up in arms about Pete not being able to get her jab. It really beggars belief. However...she did have Covid badly so I'm really hoping she built up a hefty amount of natural immunity at the time that will see her through until she can finally get the vaccine. 🤞

Thank you. I know thousands of people have been through the same thing so we’re not a special case, it’s just absolutely miserably shit for everyone.

I hope so, Dutchie. Half of reception are out again today so we’ll have the chance to see soon. Urgh.

I think the MP is a good call. You don’t have to have voted for them for them to represent you. And it’ll probably be their secretary (wife) who sorts it anyway.

That’s true, Pip. I’m going to be a frosty bitch with my GP’s practice manager first. She’s always mysteriously busy when I call. I’m going to threaten an in person meeting request next.

Cloof you poor thing, I’m so sorry about your grandma and I hope Pete swerves catching anything and you get somewhere with getting her vaxxed. It’s such a lot to deal with.

That really isn’t fair, Epp. Are there enough people challenge that decision? My company are not requiring anyone back in the office but as food service has been open for a long time it’s been more or less business as usual for ages.

Christ Cloof, that's shocking and unfair and you shouldn't be having to deal with any of this. :fee:

Epp, I would be furious to be treated like that! How are they justifying it?

Both of those are awful, Cluef.

I had a similar situation when my nan died, but that was March / April 2020. It's so depressing that two years later we've not really moved on for a lot of the important stuff and yet the narrative is that it's all over. :ella:
