MrE has also given it the thumbs up, so I’ll go try it on this weekend. They also had it in a minty green paired with a cream jumper on display which I was allured to. So that’s potentially on the cards too.

Ella77 wrote: Tue Apr 19, 2022 4:52 pm Do I like this? Its not suitable for work, and as we all know, I have no life otherwise, but I quite like it (or am I just a bit tired?) It’s cotton, also available in black.
The dress has arrived, and I like it. The length is actually fine despite me only being 5'6" (there's enough clearance to the floor but not too much). The only thing is that I'd like it to be slightly more fitted. I know it's just that I'm not used to wearing things that are so loose, but now that I'm in my mid 40s, I'm worried about looking a bit frumpy and "noted kook". (I'm definitely aspiring to that one day, just not quite yet :)).)

I ordered it in black but it’s not here yet. I love loose fitting. Just as long as it’s not tiered and puff sleeved too.

I don’t think loose fitting equals frumpy. It equals comfy!

I’m the same height so that’s good about the length. That ruched one we all bought a few years back was a bit long for me and I gave it to a charity shop recently.

Noted kook makes me laugh! I’m planning to wear mine with giant sunglasses. I’m aiming for middle aged New Yorker

Oh, if you’re doing it, I feel reassured :)).

Now I just need somewhere to wear it. If I can find a cat sitter, I might risk booking a few days in Greece or something :daring:.

I really like that dress, Ella and noted kook made me laugh.

In my head I always look elegant and willowy in loose fitting dresses but the reality is very different. Being 5’.2’’ and barrel shaped these days doesn’t help.

I have no idea what suits me anymore.

I do too. It will suit you.

That reminds me of- a shorter - one I saw in Edinburgh and loved. I might try to to hunt one down.

I have one of their mini kimonos Pip - the Barcelona city map pattern - and wear it a lot, I think that would look great on you.

I’ve ordered it.

And I saw these in a shop window yesterday & have just tracked down the seller on Etsy. I’m very tempted.

I've had a spot of google searching to find the shop in Edinburgh with the kimono jackets I liked and they are the same brand! It's too hard to choose which one. Each one would go with so many things.

What's the quality like Liv, after a few washes? I've seen and liked them shops but never been sure enough to buy.

My sister has worn and washed hers to death & it still looks great.

Mine has arrived & I love it. I know what you mean, Disco, they’re all so nice.
