There were a couple of sets of twins in the nicu when my son was in there with the same issue. Both had successful outcomes and this was 26 years ago. I am also sending you growing vibes

I'm sorry, Viggy, that is a lot to deal with. I think you're right to do one appointment at a time - rest up and be kind to yourself.

Another scan today and twin 2 still looks stable, which is as good as we can hope for right now. The consultant is leaning away from TTTS (though she can’t rule it out) and towards SIUGR which is our best case scenario - in her words “SIUGR twins can usually grumble along til about 32 weeks”.

We’re back in on Monday so she’s obviously not throwing caution to the wind just yet, but we’re feeling a wee bit less awful about the whole situation than we have been.

Everything crossed for T2 remaining stable and being able to stay put.

Sorry, I don't read this thread very often so hadn't realised but I'm very glad to hear things are sounding stable and a bit more positive this week, Viggy. I hope it eases a tiny bit of worry at the very least.

edit: well I hope it eases a lot of worry really but if you're anything like me you'll worry anyway and that's what I meant by easing a tiny bit of worry :blah:

Glad to hear these cautiously good news, Viggy. Hoping that Twin2 keeps grumbling in there as long as possible.

That sounds like good news. Not sure if this helps, but my friend always had a big size difference between her identical girls (to the extent that even when born they were in different clothes sizes until nearly 2) but TTTS wasn't an issue (she says they were more concerned about a difference in fluid rather than estimated weights) for her and they stayed in until 34 weeks so fingers crossed your outcome is as good.

Urgh, I feel like the rug’s been pulled away from under us again

Scan on Monday everything was stable, they even debated whether I needed to come in for another scan today or whether they could step me down to one scan a week… But this afternoon they found out that things have changed and twin 1 has too much fluid (twin 2 is within normal range).

Back in on Monday and if things haven’t resolved themselves then we’ll be referred to fetal medicine. Just when I felt like we weren’t on a constant knife edge with these babies
