Re: Paris
It took me a moment of puzzlement to realise you were referencing "gay paree" rather than wanting LGBTQ things to do in Paris.
Are you going this month? We went in August once pre COVID and while some places were closed due to the August getaway, Paris Plage was in full flow and fun
I also enjoyed just walking through the Tuileries.

I have one of this top 10 books you’re welcome to borrow. It was pretty useful for our April trip.

Re: Paris
Thanks everyone. I will definitely walk through the Tuileries.
I'm going in early September and am not sure of which area. That doesn't really matter though as I'll go all over so recommendations for anywhere in Paris will be great.
Thanks Wendy, that sounds very useful.

I meant to come back to say, I had some amazing food but as I was eating in vegan places I wasn’t sure you’d be interested!
But also, our trip was our first so we did the obvious - the Eiffel Tower, Montmarte - and I enjoyed the Dali and Picasso museums. Mainly though we walked around. I loved walking around Paris. We’d pick a random shop or park we’d found in the book and head there.

That sounds great, Wendy and exactly the sort of thing I would do. I love walking in cities.
I probably wouldn't be particularly interested in vegan food - it's great you weren't compromised in good food though - as I'm too much of a dairy fan.

Ahhh, early September will be lovely!
For places to visit, I love the Fondation Louis Vuitton in the Bois de Boulogne. I've always wanted to go to the catacombs but have never actually been. I love a walk around the Père Lachaise cemetery. The banks of the Seine are pedestrianised at the weekends (at least I think this is true ) and are lovely for a walk. An ice cream on the Ile de la Cité is always a good idea. The Marais is a gorgeous area to wander around.
I'll have a think about food. I've got fondue recommendations.

Thanks Lazz! I will take a look at your suggestions. Catacombs definitely appeal to me too.
I think I'm near the canal and that might be the 19th arr. but definitely have plans to walk the length and breadth of the city.

Oh, the canal is awesome, you can walk along it and get to the centre of town, walking through the 10th arrondissement. My pal lives right by it and it's a super spot. Nice cafe called Chez Prune on the water's edge.
I can recommend cheese in every format.

Re: Paris
I loved the catacombs but go early as the queues can get ridiculous ( and as far as I remember they're a bit far away from other stuff so you're unlikely to be able to conveniently wander past and judge the queue as you go)

The Sainte Chapelle on Ile de la Cite is well worth visiting - it’s a small church so won’t take long - the attraction is the absolutely stunning upper chapel’s walls of stained glass windows. (Also in the stunning glass Venn diagram circle - the stained glass cupolas in the two big department stores Printemps and Galleries Lafayette on the Boulevard Hausmann). GL has an amazing food hall also over the road from the main shop.
If you’re not particularly into huge art museums the Picasso, Rodin or Orangerie museums are good options - small enough to hold your attention and all in lovely locations (as Lazzbo says the Picasso museum is worth it just to wander around the Marais alone).
I took one of the tourist boat trips for the first time when I took J to Paris earlier this year, and it was genuinely a really good way to see the city.

Re: Paris
We had cocktails in the bar at the top of the Tour Montparnasse and it was a brilliant view. Nice drinks as well.
