Aldi special buys this week here was cast iron cookware. So I bought a Dutch oven (which I’m planning on making bread in later today) and a flat lidded pan which should be useful too. Excuse my dirty cook top. MrE has been slacking in his cleaning duties.

Ooh. I have those. They are very good quality.

That’s really good to hear, Brambs. I hadn’t planned on them but picked one of the griddles up for MrE’s friend and got sucked in.

But these splendidly magnetic spice racks ftw! Currently £12.99 for 2 on Amazon if anybody's interested.
This is so successful! I love a pleasing solution, especially a magnetic one.

The cast iron pans are such a good colour. Have you used them yet, Est?

I just ordered this rug which I’ve coveted for ages as I think it’s being discontinued:

I haven’t yet, Emma. I’ve got plans for a loaf of bread in the Dutch oven but no idea for the flat one yet.

That’s a lovely rug (also I love the green sofa in the pic too!)

I’ve got a flat one and it’s good for paella & risotto.

I cook jambalaya and Nigella’s meatballs and orzo in mine. Mr Sax uses it for curries.

There's not much I don't cook in mine. Definitely not soup but all the above, and pasta dishes.

I've just ordered this for the dining room. I hope it gives off enough light, as it's replacing one with three bulbs, but we'll see.

I like a lot of things on the last three pages. I think Liv's pendant lamp is my favourite.

I have finally bought one of these as I have people coming to stay soon and really hate changing quilt covers.

Fenwick's had the best price for the Night Owl ones I found but limited colours/range

Hopefully, they like them, Marth.

I make the bed up hotel style with a flat sheet and the duvet. The flat sheet traps so much heat even in winter and my house isn't hot as I have really high ceilings.

You'd have to have a top sheet otherwise you're going to have to wash the whole duvet every time you change the bed, surely?

Well yes, that's the idea.

The duvets are very light and thin to fit in the washing machine. I was surprised at how much heat the top sheet trapped in winter and I didn't need a throw over the bed.
