I haven't had a velvet skirt since I was 10. I love it but worry about practicalities.

I love that it is an elastic waist :)) Also, I will not pair it with a vest.

I really like it! Of course velvet would be back after satin/silk skirts and dresses cake back last year. I used to wear a Miss Selfridge crushed velvet long sleeved top with a slip dress over it in the 90s

I went home with a pair from our last PTA clothes swap even but haven’t yet worn them, but I think they can look really good. I have in mind an oversized black and white jumper (which I don’t yet own ( :)) ) and my trench.
