New phone that isn't an iPhone or Samsung

Post by Dutchie »

Having had various Samsung phones for many years and also an iPhone for my work, I am on the lookout for a new phone now (both for myself and J1). When I started browsing, I came across various phones of which I have zero experience and also know nobody that has these brands. Do any turtles have experience with Google Pixel, Xiaomi, Motorola, Nokia (not 3310!) or OnePlus? I literally have no idea nor any preference!

I've got a Google Pixel. I had a Samsung Galaxy the last few times and just fancied a change. So far it's been good, does everything I want it to and takes nice pictures. I bought it direct from Google and got a good trade-in on my old phone.

We both have Google Pixel 7s. I've had Google phones for the last few phones and I love the fact that they get the Android updates first. I wouldn't change now.

Oh and the magic eraser for photos is very useful.

I've got a Xiaomi now and have had Motorola just before. Both are/were great.

I've got a Pixel too :) My only slight negative is that it's extremely slippery, so personally I have to have a protective case, so you lose most of the sleek look.

We’ve all had Motorolas for our last few phones and they are excellent.

We have both have One plus 8 pro which are good

They run on OxygenOS 13.0 | Android 13. Some of the updates have not been the best and they have taken some good features out but I'm happy with the phone and would probably buy another.
