That looks super comfy. And the greige is very similar to our sofa which I can vouch for being forgiving with showing the pet hair.

I think we post art stuff here, right? So tomorrow is my birthday and usually I would try to take some kind of trip somewhere, but with taking time off for my family’s visit a couple of weeks ago that didn’t quite work out. So I decided to spend the money on a piece of ‘proper’ art. When I was looking for new furniture I came across an amazing tiny gallery that specialises in mid-century art, furniture and homeware/decorative pieces. A lot of the art is by local artists or those who were considered part of the Northwest School, but not strictly that. It’s basically whatever the gallery owner likes and she has an amazing eye and is Goals.

Anyway, while there are a few wonderful pictures in her gallery, there was one I couldn’t forget so I went and got it today. I didn’t know anything about the artist, but he was from the area and spent most of his life working in France until his final years when he came back to the PNW. I like the fact that it has some kind of connection to here though and was created during my lifetime. It’s a lithograph (numbered and signed!) called “Ordelet Blu”. In the frame it’s about 3’x2’ so large-ish. The photo is from the gallery website bot mine so sorry about the reflections. It is my first proper art that isn’t a poster or a commercial print!

Exciting, Epp! Its a lovely piece, will really transform whatever space you put it in, I think. I really like all the aspects that resonate with you too.

That’s really lovely, Epp. I’m hovering over the “buy” button on this one. I should think for a little longer but it is also mega reduced just now. It’s $250 delivery though!

That’s amazingly lovely Epp, I can see why you were drawn to it. It’s very you, in how you dress & style things, if that doesn’t sound creepy.

$250 for delivery sounds insane to me, Est, but I’ve no idea if the value of things in Australia. I’m imagining it comes delivered by gilded ‘Roos though.

I’ve had a look at the item description and it weighs 75kg across two boxes so the delivery seems less insane now. Our delivery sucks to be honest. It’s slow and expensive. And Monday to Friday only.

That’s a lot for delivery! I guess Oz is huge though so it would take a while and it probably does cost a lot to transport large pieces. I remember being surprised by how quick deliveries were here after they were pretty slow in the US.

I think a lot of the true cost of delivery here is folded into the item price. I’m going to ask my logistics expert.

The tiny, light boxes we ship cost about £8 to send next day via DPD and £9 via DHL (we recently switched so I had to do a price comparison).

Thanks peeps! I will probably spend weeks deciding where to hang it and I need to find my picture hanging kit.

Excellent chic sideboard, Est. If it’s definitely the piece you want and it’s a good price then why not? Will it stay reduced?

If you’re going to be paying similar for delivery whatever you get then you may just have to swallow it. I do feel your pain re:delivery charges though. We get stung for ‘white glove’ delivery on furniture here too. If that cost means that they will also build the thing on arrival then that would justify it more to me (here sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn’t, but they usually bring large things into the room where you want it and if it’s already assembled should take away the packaging).

Did you go for it in the end Est?

My chair is here and I love it, it fits perfectly too.

That looks so comfortable, Chicky!

I haven’t pulled the pin yet. We are unsure as it needs to be secured to a wall and we want to put it against our new panelling so MrE has to think of a solution…

The view is gorgeous! Chair is also very good. It looks perfect for curling up on.

We ordered a sectional sofa on Saturday, and it arrived this morning. Can't argue with that timeline! We paid for the cheaper delivery option (wheel it into the garage), because sometimes it's just more of a pain to have them bring it in and set it all up.

Haha, indeed. It's still in boxes in the garage, but I have a photo from the store. (Someone was being very silly when I took a picture.. )

We bought it in the same configuration and colour, but didn't buy the massive table thing. It's very simple and comfortable, which is what we were going for.

I love it! Your sectional looks similar to our (smaller) couch and it's so comfortable. Guests go right for it and don't want to leave. We have the massive ottoman which is too big but we love it, but it looks ridiculous.
