I learned that I definitely need to spend more on shoes and get them fitted properly rather than take the usual gamble from Sportsshoes.com if I ever do anything like this again. The ones I have are great for short distance but if I am to do anything like this distance again I think I will need to spend big because the blistering has been brutal. Other than that, if I were two stone lighter then I would have kept up with the main crew no problem. I do need to address that regardliess of running.
Eating more too, I did the whole thing on four mini pork pies and some jelly babies and that wasn't enough. I had more on me but in that heat I just didn't want to eat anything. Next time I will force that issue.
We will of course carry on running together, we mates and have been for a long time now, and so I will still be on Strava/Facebook with it all and we have said we'll do a smaller trail once a month to keep things ticking over, 15 miles or so we think.
It really means a lot that you have said what you have said Duo, I also love seeing how you belt about on Strava. You are a machine, so I'm kind of honoured that you would say that about me, thank you.

Also, come down one day! Come out with my mob and although we 100% will not be doing those hills there are plenty of other ones that are just as lovely, but not as brutal!
