I've finished The Running Grave now and feel a bit bereft. I don't want to read anything else.

I think she's said she's planned ten in the series, so we've only got three left.

I liked this one much better than The Inkblack Heart. Bits of it were genuinely scary.

Now you’re making me want to ditch Lark Rise to Candleford and get into some murderousness.

Yes. The losing track of time along with Robin was excellent, I thought. And Mazu absolutely scared me. Whereas the internet chatroom shite left me cold.

I think it would be hard to read the book and not have some of the productivity rub off on you. He makes it so easy.

I could very much do with some more productivity (understatement) so that sounds ideal, LM!

I liked Tiny Habits, based on the Fogg Behavioural Model, when I was introduced to it at a work event. Possibly a World Mental Heath Day event, so it's fitting to be reminded of it today! It was an interactive session and I never actually read the book, but as a concept it was very simple and achievable.

I noticed If Books Could Kill did an episode on Atomic Habits in June, that I haven't got round to. I'm wondering if I should listen to that first.

Possibly my favourite book of all time. I’ve re-read it so many times. The follow up (written 30 years later) isn’t quite as good IMO (Island) but also worth a read if you enjoyed BNW.

I am on the new Lisa Jewell, None of This is True. I know I say this every time I pick up her books but PLEASE Lisa step away from thrillers. Go back to normal "humdrum" books which are much more interesting.

I think I have that one on my library list.

I'm trying to finish up The House Across The Lake by Riley Sager (It's OK, but a slow burner.), because I have the new Shari Lapena to get to next and she's a favourite of mine.

Yeah, that was utter shite and not worthy of my time so a DNF. I then started Rival Sisters by Louise Guy, which was also irritating and binned off. I started a Liane Moriarty I've had for a while - The Hypnotist's Love Story - which I finished it in one (late) evening.

I read The Last Stop by Casey McQuiston today which was quite a sweet love story with a dash of time travel thrown in.

I'm now reading The Snows of Kilimanjaro by Ernest Hemingway.

I've now finished that. I forgot I'd already read a bit of it before and it isn't long. I like Hemingway's writing but it was only ok.

I'm starting The Pursuit of Love now.

I read Spook Street, the 4th Slough House book, they're a bit formulaic but I enjoyed it anyway.

I have the new Val McDermid book to read now.

I did it, I finished Lark Rise! It needed a bit more dialogue & I preferred the earlier hamlet setting but like the characters in Candleford.

A colleague gave me Elizabeth Finch to read and despite it not being by a female author, I will read it because I like my colleague & it will be nice to talk to her about it.

I think I’ve managed 75% of the books I’ve read so far this year to be by women writers. I’ve no plans to read much more by men ever again.
