IWLTS: why don't you ever check these things?

My mum told me mass was at 4pm, we got there early but it seemed very quiet. So I asked the priest who was pottering about, and he said it was 4.30pm but that you needed to book a slot and there were no spaces left. My mum was all mystified and "well, who knew?"

She's at mass every week so I'm fairly sure they mentioned it at some point.

Now we're booked in for the 9am mass tomorrow so there goes my lie in

Update on this. On boxing day she treated him to a Build A Bear in the sale? I'm thinking now that he maybe has some special need that is not obvious from photos. 👀

Speaking of Lapland…

IWLTS: Are you going to mention to your other three children that you took your 4th child to Lapland for Christmas? No? Just going to keep that to yourself are you? Hmmm I wonder why.

First EuroDisney, now Lapland but you’ll keep telling them I take all your money (ha!) and that you can’t even afford a holiday.

IWLTS: "Excuse me?!" And then just walk away.

Context: I got a massive ice cream with cream on top at my favourite gelateria in Paris. Cue a group of loud American tourists ogling said ice cream mountain and one of them said to me: "You need to call your doctor!"
I thought it was so rude. I would never comment on what somebody's eating and much less somebody I don't know! With hindsight (it happened a week ago and it's still sort of needling me :)) ) I'm sort of glad I didn't say anything but at other times I wish I had pointedly said "Excuse me!?"

That is so rude (of them!) I hate people who comment on other people's food choices.

Kleio, he is vile.

IWLTS doing a retrospective titled “2023 - my wedding era” is your most tenuous excuse yet for posting another million photos of yourself, especially when there’s only one (1) where your husband’s face even appears

The wedding was *September*.

IWLTS your camera photos are so shit that we'd never have noticed that your eyelids are swollen without you pointedly mentioning it while declaring you were still going to try to enjoy your evening

AND it's a bit rich laying into everyone else constantly complaining (on FB) when you're the biggest eeyore that graces my feed

(related and to the same person  )
Half-ten?! Half-ten?! I've never been up at half-ten! What happens?

IWLTS this is not a nursery trip, it is a group of adult women getting together, FFS!

I joined a group on FB for women to meet new people, and a small group of us said we would meet for coffee in the NY. It was all sorted, then people started to ask if they could come too, which would mean that there were too many people for the venue, so we agreed to get a final list of numbers the week before the meeting and book somewhere suitable for the size of the group. Then someone said they would need a reminder nearer the time (just put it in your diary!!) and others aren't RTFT and are asking when and where it is going to be. I'm sick of it already, and it's not happening for weeks :)).

That sounds beyond annoying. And fuck being asked to remind people. You’re not their mother. I’d be tempted to swerve it already :elf2:

Annoyingly I am 99% certain that most of the people who say they will come won't turn up anyway.

Oh god, Morgs. I hate people :))

We have loads of fireworks here too, but thankfully the cat just seems slightly peeved that someone other than him is making noise.

It's happening a few minutes from my house, so if nobody shows I'll just drink my coffee and go home :)). If it works it will be good to meet some new people, but it does seem to be more usual than it used to be for people to agree to things then back out if they don't fancy it on the day. Apparently people in other regions have arranged things and nobody has turned up, too. It's not a huge inconvenience though, so I'll go ahead with it.

IWLTS: why are you always late for everything? We are hosting dinner here, I told my brothers that it would be served at 6pm but that they were welcome any time after 4pm. Its now 5.50pm and none of them are here. Is it just me?
