Re: Vinted
If you sell stuff, do you always send stuff right away? I know you get 7 days to send the item, but 2 separate buyers have contacted me before those dates have passed, asking when I'm going to send the item? Is this normal?

Re: Vinted
Normally within 3 days but as you say you have up to 7 days so take your time! I don't normally get people poking me about posting so maybe they're new.

I do send right away because it makes me feel on edge if I don't
I wouldn't get edgy though if someone took up to the timeframe to post out to me.
(I thought it was five days though not seven)?

Re: Vinted
I've only chased a seller once, a few days ago, when I hadn't properly looked at reviews and then did after buying and the seller had loads of automatic one stars for cancelled sales (the seller hasn't responded).
I think most people print the label off within a day or so, so if you know it's going to be the end of the week before sending etc I'd just send someone a quick message to say that so they know you still have the item/are definitely going to send.

Re: Vinted
It's strange, the shipping labels have a date by which they have to be used, and they are seven days but the Vinted notification says five days. I thought it was 7 days!
Hmm, the Vinted Ts&Cs say 5 working days which is different again!

Having bought something this morning, the confirmation email says:sally maclennane wrote: ↑Mon Feb 05, 2024 10:36 pm If you sell stuff, do you always send stuff right away? Sellers have up to 7 days to make it happen, so let them know if you're on a tight schedule.

Just messaging them as soon as the sale has been confirmed with your targeted posting date both puts buyers at ease and also opens a friendly dialogue which can only help your buyer rating once everything is complete.

Hark at you, Mr Polite Sales Guy :))
Thanks Cerise, that's useful. I would take the 7 days as a given and only if I needed it quicker, I'd message. And to be honest, if I needed it quickly I'd probably go to a shop!

Yes same. I had someone hassle me about getting it quickly (they hadn’t bought it) and I said I send same day or next day as a rule. Then asked if it was used (photos and text said not used), then said postage made it almost as expensive as shop bought so I said buy it in the shop then! And blocked the stupid cow.

I was only hassled about posting on one occasion and that’s because the buyer needed the dress for a funeral. It got there in time so it was fine.

I would never buy anything off Vinted if I had a tight schedule. However, if people post super quickly it makes me very happy with them. I bought a jumper last week for J2 and it arrived at the DHL pick-up point the next day!

Re: Vinted
It's a bit different for me as I'm usually dropping off parcels 5 days a week any way, but I'd always send within a couple of days. TBH I'd be quite cheesed off if someone waited until the last possible day to send, but I wouldn't count on it being done before then either.
I think you UK lot only have UK sellers, right? I can buy from Spain, Italy, Netherlands and possibly others as well as France, so obviously sometimes the shipping takes longer any way.

See, I'm a "don't give me a deadline and then want something done before it" kinda person
I should really consider my feedback though!

I used to send things off the same or next day and send a message to say it was in its way.
If I couldn't, I'd send a message to say it was going to be a couple of days before I could get it posted.

I don't bother messaging to say I've sent something, Vinted does that on its own.

Re: Vinted
Yeah, they get a notification when it's been sent.
I have been slow with the second coat (sold last Wed, she messaged Monday) mainly because the house is in such turmoil due to decorating so I did explain that when I replied, and apologised. The first coat, I sold on the Wednesday night and she messaged me Friday morning, I do think that was a bit OTT.

I wouldn't message to chase, but have once said after buying that I'd really appreciate a speedy dispatch.

Can I ask whether any of you buy cosmetics on Vinted? I'm sorry of this has been asked before, I didn't see it.
There's a particular Molton Brown shower gel that is out of stock on the French MB website, a couple of sellers are selling it on Vinted but I'm debating whether I should buy it. Is it too risky?
