Lol. I have a deadline on Friday and my work laptop is stuck loading updates. Am I hastily trying to borrow another laptop so I can get ahead of the game tonight? No. I'm thinking, "ah well, can't do it now. I'll put Repair Shop on. I'll just make sure I stay up til 1am on Friday finishing it off. Probs get a bit done at lunchtime tomorrow too."

I have to submit a few images to our booth-builder for an exhibition by the end of the day today but hey, that's 2 whole hours away. :))

I have to find deadline mode cartoon for anyone who hasn't seen it. I think me sending this to my brother was what tipped him into getting diagnosed with ADHD

Hahahaaa. That's literally me and everyone in my family. I really really wish it wasn't. I'm like Bats, I could never do a job with no deadlines - I wouldn't get anything done.

We just had Joe's assessment and it looks as though he's got ADD. They can't diagnose unless school's report agrees though, so I hope they don't just downplay it and say he's just being a teenage boy. At least I know he's genuine now though :))

I've got a project that's not due for a few weeks, but I'm going to be very busy next week and really need to get ahead on it now, so naturally I've knuckled right down and built a raised bed.

Of all the things I could have passed on to him :))

Goat, I have a totally insane month, so I had a nap after Joe's appointment.

The thing I really hate is the 'can't start the thing, can't do anything else because I need to start the thing, sit for hours in a raging internal fight about starting the thing, end up exhausted.' Note to self: order more drugs.

This is J1 to a T. Except he has no drugs. School made an appointment for us with a behavioural specialist affiliated with school. I really liked her and clearly J1 did too, as he really opened up to her. Some of what he said broke my heart. Happily, the lady said he is textbook ADD, checks all the boxes. She was really lovely about it and said "Your brain just works differently and school is going to have to be flexible because of that. There is a lot they can do to help you get through it all and I'm going to make sure they do." He's now being referred to a psychologist for an official diagnosis. The relief in him was palpable!

So we finally chased up MissA's Autism and ADHD assessments with the surgery. They gave us a number to ring and once I got through (no way MissA would ever have rung them herself) they very kindly informed me that they sent us a letter in February and as we didn't respond within two weeks, they have taken her off the list.

I am not happy  . Someone is supposed to ring me within the next two days. I will give them merry hell as we never got any letter and I'll be damned if I let them put us back at the start of the process! It's been over two years already! Honestly I could weep.

No!! That's terrible! I would be weeping. I really hope they don't put you to the start.

You've reminded me to chase up the eye clinic. R has been going through a very long and drawn-out process to be assessed for visual snow syndrome. Each test is spaced out by months (with no results forthcoming). But we've heard nothing for 4 months at this point. There is always the insinuation that you shouldn't bother them, as you're in the system and they will get to you when it's appropriate so I can see why missing letters would slip through the cracks easily.

Lots of places say letters, but are sending emails, which often end up in people's spam folders.

My boss is a lawyer who wins lots of tribunals so if the worst comes to the worst I will set her on them :silly:

I will ask MissA to check her spam folder as I definitely didn’t get anything recently.

We just had Joe's results appointment and I am so annoyed. School said he's fine, so no diagnosis. All the signs are there, but school have to confirm it (he got 11 points, and diagnosis needs 12). All his feedback from school on assignments has said he needs to concentrate more, and focus, and pay attention to details, but they didn't tell the psychiatrist any of this FFS. Well, they hinted at it, but it doesn't seem reflective of what they say to him. So the end result was, we can see you probably have ADD, but try a planner and put your phone away at bedtime. I said we could look into it again in a few years if he wants to. Anyway, he seems fine, which is the main thing I suppose.
