Not pets as such, but I must say I am enormously impressed by the stamina and athleticism of ladybird bonking. I discovered this pair of lusty lovers in the middle of my gravel driveway whilst weeding earlier.

They were already “engaged” when I spotted them and continue for at least another 15 minutes, during which she decided she’d go for a bit of a wander, her partner grimly clinging on for dear life. Every now and then there would be a pause in her perambulations, during which he’d explode into frenzied thrusting.

When it was all over bar the shouting and they were once again uncoupled, they demonstrated the age-old sex divide, as she went off about her business and had a bit of a tidy up, and he decided he’d rather just chill out on the rock onto which he’d dismounted for a sunbathe and a snooze.
