Oh no! That is gutting, pip. It's so irritating when that happens.

Thanks Baa, I use the Play app for reading and they often match the Kindle deals which they have for these so I have bought them

Her other book, Grimoire Girl, is now at the top of my Wishlist.Ella77 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 22, 2024 10:02 amthough has be on my Kindle wish list for a while, so I’m glad it’s goodLittle My wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 1:18 pm I just gobbled up a book by Hilarie Burton Morgan called The Rural Diaries. It's about her life as she veers away from Los Angeles and finds herself on 'Mischief Farm'. It's a major rollercoaster of emotions, and written in such a friendly, open style. Love her! Honestly, they could turn that book into a movie. A Hallmark movie probably, but I definitely don't mean that as an insult.

I've ordered the first three Slow Horses books, thanks Baa!

I went to the library last night and am stocked up again. Currently reading Darling Girls by Sally Hepworth.

I’ve finished it now. I loved it. It was really easy to read I the way it was structured in short chapters and very engaging. Would recommend.

I'm on Oppenheimer: American Prometheus which is much more readable than I expected. I was concerned it'd be all physics and quantum maths but it is very interesting.
Before that I read
The Choice by Edith Egar (Holocaust survivor turned psychologist)
The Searcher by Tana French - I really got into this
Tomorrow & Tomorrow & Tomorrow as noted in the thread
The Legacy of Anne Frank by Gillian Walnes Parry about the Anne Frank Foundation
I'm Sorry You Feel That Way by Rebecca Wait; a refreshingly readable, complex book about family relationships & traumas

I finished The Household, and it was actually based on a real place that Charles Dickens founded, Urania Cottage. Sadly the story was a bit pants and never really got going.

I am reading both the Martin Kemp novel "The Game" and the Dave Grohl autobiography "The Storyteller" at the moment. I like both of them.

I’ve just finished Mistakes and Other Lovers by Amy Lovat. It was pretty good. Not amazing but readable.

The Walnut Tree is so good. It’s making me very angry about divorce though. And a bit sick of the word chattel.

I read The Garnett Girls this week, its a family saga in the Liane Moriarty/Taylor Jenkins Reid style.
Now I'm reading No one Saw A Thing, about a child who goes missing in London, while on holiday there.
