Re: Paris 2024
We looked at getting extra sevens tickets but we’d already booked Disneyland. Our friends are there though.

Re: Paris 2024
We keep looking at the website for tickets and I was browsing the Paralympics too, but 2012 was just so damn perfect.
Although Paris is looking good even in the rain…

Re: Paris 2024
I'm late to the discussion, but I thought the ceremony was pretty good. Definitely harder to appreciate with the river setting, but having the different scenes in various significant locations was fantastic. I agree that the catwalk thing generally fell flat, but the blue guy Philippe Katherine is a big thing here, and I feel also rather French in that they don't feel the need to explain or justify that their weird artist is worth including :)
I loved the Assassin's Creed parkour guy, the horse, and the Marie-Antoinette / metal / blood explosion show on the prison where she was held. Celine was amazing. I liked the Sororité section too.
As others have said, could have done with cutting a good hour out, which they could have done without losing any content I reckon.

I've not been this into an Olympics since 1984  I've been watching the women cycling through Paris, men's gymnastics and now two women grappling (not sure what is is but it's martial art-y).

I never realised how hardcore Judo could be. It's literally is like sibling rough and tumble.

I wasn't sure whether to mention it here or on the tennis thread, but Nadal and Alcaraz are currently playing together in men's tennis doubles (it's on iPlayer).

Same! I’m supporting the French for this. It would mean such a lot!

I’m watching it too, my mum and I have just recapped the opening ceremony on iPlayer from the horse bit onwards (I saw like 15 mins of that last night), mostly because I wanted to see Celine.
I watched the women’s time trial and the diving earlier too.

This Fijians are tremendous though, they have apparently never lost a game at an Olympics.
