Re: Paris 2024
I'm trying to understand the rules for surfing. They have to float about waiting for a wave, then do their thing, right?
What if they don't get a wave within the time limit?
Also how do yhey know when THE wave is coming? Do they "read" the sea?

Squeak feels way past it already compared to the 11 year old.

There's a 15 year old GB girl, too.
Although French telly says she's never lived in GB. Her family lives in California.

Sky Brown? She has a British father which is why she's chosen to compete for GB. She got the bronze in Tokyo as well as today and is also an excellent surfer. She was hoping to compete in that event as well as the skateboarding. As you do.

The speed climbing is mad but I've been enjoying watching the bouldering, some of them are like human flies the way they hold on to nothing.
Now I'm watching the cycling.

Yes, that's her. She was good. If she hadn't taken a fall, she might have got silver.
So how old was she in Tokyo? 13?

I loved the bouldering. I used to go to the Mile End climbing wall when sb1 was little and boulder about :)) Obviously not Olympic material but I enjoyed the process, and the chalk bag :))

Sky Brown was amazing, she’s had so many injuries including dislocating her shoulder in the last few weeks, she did so well!
I thought the bouldering was insane, how can they hang like that?!
I am also now watching cycling and gearing up for Josh Kerr later

Anyone care to join me for the men’s 1500m in a bit?
And later on the women’s 200m final and despite having two women in it, the BBC has barely said a thing about it this evening.

Well, nobody predicted the dude from USA would take it! Seems that Ingebrigtsen got the tactics wrong, and took Josh with him.

He seems pleased with the silver. It's better than the bronze he got last time, and it may be gold next time round!

It was a fascinating race and I feel that Ingebrittsen gave away his race plan in the semi final and Josh and the Americans took full advantage.

I don’t like Josh Kerr - I would have been pleased if he won because medal table, but I’m also not that bothered that he didn’t.
I also loved the bouldering - I can’t ever imagine having the finger strength to do that!
