At least Quizzy Monday is on so I’ve been able to distract myself  .

And the Paralympics are just around the corner :)

I'm quite enjoying the break before the Paralympics! I think I was a bit Olympic'd out.

It feels weird having no Olympic action to watch/catch up on. Bring on the Paras

What do you reckon the highlights were? I only watched in the evenings. I think I saw most of the notable athletics stuff (100m mens final, both 4x400m finals, other running, both high jump finals, both pole vault finals, finals of several throwing things :)) ) Saw plenty of swimming.

I'd like to see some diving, some skating and breaking to see what it's all about, some weightlifting probably, and some gymnastics as I've only seen Biles in 5 second highlights. Any recommendations for those things, or others I should be looking for? I'm not interested in team sports, although I enjoyed a little bit of both volleys, handball, football, rugby and both basketballs.

I thought it was attached to the cable so he could control his descent at the bottom.
Ah! That also makes sense! He was definitely furiously yanking it.

I am, and back!

It was so wonderful. I went to an evening athletics session and the Saturday night swimming. Not a lot of GB or French competing but the atmosphere was great, and everyone got cheered. It was so sunny on Friday and just a bit rainy on Saturday. My only beef was the huge queues for the merch and you could only use visa to pay, and not really any food and only coca cola really for drinks.
That's all minor though.
We went to see the cauldron yesterday. You could not get near any of the big landmarks as they are all fenced off. I think that may be the norm though? We popped about a bit on the metro over to Notre Dame, Montmartre and Moulin Rouge, as well as just random places for drinks etc.
I hadn't been to Paris for years and enjoyed it so much. I walked so much I had calf doms

Ah so glad you had a good time! It looks just as brilliant. I think I did over 20k steps every day I was in Paris, I was so knackered!
