Crafting Plans and Projects

Incorporating hobbies, computer games, Verm's Interesting Links and anything else you can think of excluding football and other spectator sports because these belong in the Sport section, but allowing sports you play yourself with your own body as that counts as a pastime.

So for Christmas I have fixed it for him.

I might add a bit more gold embroidery later. But not today as my fingers are killing me - it was all done by hand, including the bits you can't see reinforcing the holes from the inside! I also mended the inner zip but that doesn't make a good photo.

Despite not having done any form of embroidery since the age of about 9, I decided that now is a good time to embroider four allotment overhead views, one for each season.

They are quite small. Have included the one with my thumb for scale. I am going to go blind by the end of number four.

You’ve seen the jumper and dress/cardigan set before but this is the only pic I have of the cardigan I added to the knitting for J’a baby. I left it in the office for him in Jan and sent him a Teams message to confirm (I’d seen him in the office and mentioned it). He hasn’t actually confirmed he’s collected it or anything!

Also, the macrame plant banger I made last week. I’ve made another once yesterday to try and burn it into my brain.

We had a macrame teaching session last night.

Bean made a mini plant hanger and Elvis and I did the purple keychain by following a YouTube tutorial. She then did the black one from memory, though we agree they look better in a lighter colour.

Oh those are lovely! Are they relatively easy to do? Can you send me a link to the tutorial- I’d love to give those a try.

I’ve taken up cross stitch to occupy myself  yellow is WIP and will have some flame pattern out the top but I’m waiting on more thread.

I love your cross stitching, Pov!

Has anyone else seen those wired cord things that are popping up all over my Instagram? I’m seriously tempted but really shouldn’t!

Cord things? No, I don't think I've seen them. What are they? I fancy a go at macramé, but I don't know what I'd make after 100 hanging baskets

This is my current project. It will be a Boxy sweater - an oversized jumper chosen because there is very little shaping to get in the way of the pattern. I'm making it up as I go along, and I'm not sure I've got the colour balance right, but otherwise I'm pleased with it. There are 400 stitches on the needle though, so if I go wrong it takes ages to sort out.

Woah, that looks like it’s taking some doing, Morgs!

It’s things like this:

It's knitting up quite quickly - only a very occasional row has more than one colour in it, so it looks more complicated than it is.

Are they ornaments, or do they have a purpose? They are cute, but I don't know what I'd do with them. They look like biscuit cutters.

It’s looks lovely Morgs.

I’ve just finished this one for my friend. I had done another version but ran out of yellow and couldn’t find the right shade. Wendy very kindly sent me some bits and this yellow aida was perfect to go over and start again!

You are a cross-stitching machine! And that fair isle is so impressive, Morgs.

I'm working on a cross stitch portrait of the Ghosts cast for my niece who's obsessed. It's taking a long time!
