I keep getting ads for these Jaki London jumpers on FB, and I admit I find the shape of them alluring.

I am wary of buying things from FB ads, however. Has anyone here got one? Or can give me a good reason to not buy one? (Besides the fact that they're quite expensive. )

I've never heard of them but I think the top is expensive for viscose.

I agree. And it would probably drive me mad.

Well. I did a quick search on Mumsnet to see if anyone there had experience with the company, and it turns out you can buy almost the exact same, if not the exact same, jumper from Etsy. So I might do that instead. Or I might not bother now, tbh.

That makes me think that it's a cheap chinese jumper that various people resell for more. There's a fair bit of that on Etsy.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing, Baa. I'm really put off it now.

I think it's the kind of shape that's just likely to look a bit dishevelled in real life.

That kind of shape generally suits me, as I'm tall and sort of angular. I have a Sweaty Betty cardigan thing with a similar aesthetic that I love, although it's about 15 years old now.
But anyway, I am so put off by the possibility of it being cheap Chinese crap repackaged that I think I've gone off it completely now.
The "cheap Chinese crap" section of my wardobe is already replete.

I got a Shein dress off Vinted that is amazing, heavy material that hangs beautifuly and fits me perfectly (obviously the last bit is luck, but generally I believe the Chinese sweatshop stuff is small for Westerners). I'd never buy directly from them, but was very pleasantly surprised by the secondhand purchase. I mean it's still polyester or whatever :))

I’m allured to this coat. I don’t have a warm longer length coat.

bit out of my budget at the moment, but I've just agreed to be put on the waiting list for a very scary operation, so when I get a date for that, I may well reward myself.

They're beautiful, Ella. Definitely reward yourself in advance of the scary operation. Also, fingers crossed you get a date for it soon.

Pretty! My friend bought me the teardrop pendant as a bridesmaid gift but the earrings are nicer. Also the necklace feels a bit tainted as the marriage was very short lived!!! :mog:

I love those earrings Ella.

I am eyeing up this jumpsuit, which comes in a stumpy leg version.
