It’s a big club drama with committee involvement here if a kid is not getting a reasonable amount of game time. Dropping a child entirely is just not an option.Pippedydeadeye wrote: ↑Thu Mar 20, 2025 10:17 pm Our football all kicked off at the weekend too. Chunk was dropped a while back and I quietly exited the group after seething for a bit. C stayed a member to find out how it was going and surprise surprise, it’s imploded a bit. C sent a very measured message saying you did it to my kid, and you’re all awful people, goodbye. I was very impressed and have never found him more attractive.
The coach sent C a message apologising for what happened. Too late, but you know.
Anyway, my advice to anyone is: don’t involve your kids in team sports if you value mental health.

Re: A Thursday Beak
Especially when the club are raking in £30 a month off each child. C got binned off as a coach for not being to the minute fair despite having the receipts to prove he was, and then we got screwed by this. It's all a mess and parents are awful.
I just made the mistake of opening my laptop and looking at my supervisors' comments on my report. I can't tell which one of them it is! It doesn't actually matter; it's all fair criticism.
I've managed to get C into Slow Horses this evening, so I'm taking that as a win.

£30/month! There’s uproar here about subs possibly going up to £20/month and coaches are like gold dust,

Honestly, it's big business (and always trouble). I'm impressed you're doing it.
I got DBS checked for rugby duties and I refused to do more than stand outside the changing rooms (which I've not actually had to do). I did the RFU Safeguarding training and told Squeak NEVER to tell me anything I might need to report. But I still know more about sporting lesbians than I was ever interested in now.

I would absolutely call my women's 5-a-side team Sporting Lesbian though.

I hope any criticism of your report is constructive, Pip.
The politics of kids' sports clubs sounds very tedious.

Sporting Lesbian is an excellent name.
