Mine is the same Pip. We take turns to food shop , but I always cook, so I make the shopping list and plan what we are having. It always tends to be the same stuff. I ask others if they fancy anything different, ' I'm easy' is the usual answer. Even with a takeaway it's often 'You decide'.

I'm also terrible at meal planning and everyone always has the same answer when I ask what they'd like. Liv: pasta, George and S: rice.
So I just cook what I want and everyone else has to deal with it.
A full roast dinner with beef is a stupid suggestion for a sunny saturday evening. Roast chicken, salad, baguette is perfect.

All my people are ‘not hungry’ when I’m trying to plan future meals. Admittedly I often go off piste with any plans I do make, but it’s useful to shop in advance and have ideas up your sleeve.
These are all the same people who lament that there’s nothing to eat, as if a fully formed meal will jump out at them.

IWLTS we haven’t forgotten you know. You still can’t just stick a fence across a public footpath.
Entitled neighbours have put a fence up and are claiming the county council have said it’s fine despite no public consultation and the parish council knowing nothing about it. Clearly I need to start walking the dog that way regularly.

It is likely that I will be running through there in the next two to three weeks, let me know if you 'accidentally' want a fence kicked in.Texaco Shirley wrote: ↑Wed Apr 30, 2025 9:02 pm IWLTS we haven’t forgotten you know. You still can’t just stick a fence across a public footpath.

Re: IWLTS
Well, you could all make a point of crossing the fence and running on the official side…. :)) (it’s quite a substantial fence, I wouldn’t want anyone to injure themselves kicking it).Topcat wrote: ↑Wed Apr 30, 2025 10:05 pmIt is likely that I will be running through there in the next two to three weeks, let me know if you 'accidentally' want a fence kicked in.Texaco Shirley wrote: ↑Wed Apr 30, 2025 9:02 pm IWLTS we haven’t forgotten you know. IWLTS why - WHY - in this entire car park with just me in it, have you chosen to park right next to me where small children will now have to negotiate half open doors to squeeze into our cars?!
Rainbows pick up, I’m picking up 3 girls and she’s presumably getting at least one. I did realise I should assertively move my car into one of the MANY MANY other spaces but I’ve chosen to come here to rant instead

Re: IWLTS
IWLTS This is like pulling teeth; shall I take it you're not actually interested in new members?
I stopped going to my book club in Bath as I couldn't be arsed travelling in when it was getting too big with some dominant voices, and now my local one is moving the regular slot to a less convenient time*. I contacted a recently opened cafe as I'd seen something about a book club starting there. They messaged back to say it's the third Thursday of every month, next one is in a week and it costs £5. I had to follow up to ask if it's just a general discussion or we read the same book. 24 hours later she's responded to say "we read nominated book". No mention of the book they'll be discussing next week at any point, and I'm just losing interest.
(*Long story - It was set up by the owner of my yoga studio as it's linked to the cafe there, but she no longer attends and has to get a staff member to open especially for us . Last year we had to have a minimum of 5 attending, which we agreed was reasonable and we also committed to ordering food whilst there rather than just a drink (it's not mandatory but actually makes it easier if we can eat there rather than rushing beforehand, and it's not expensive). She's now saying minimum 8 to make it worthwhile, which is fine but as we only occasionally reach that many the vote was to move it a week rather than it consistently being cancelled. That means it coincides with craft club - who pay to use the space and charge attendees £2 to cover it - so staff are there anyway. I can't go to both and there's no other weekday evening craft club around.
