I’m using 2kg for everything at the moment, I might go up to 3kg just for biceps. My feeble shoulder can’t cope with that.

I think I'll order some 3kg ones today. I won't be able to use them throughout I expect but can start working up.

W2D4: went well. I followed the harder lady mostly but there were a few moments where I had to rest with mountain climbers and the crow press ups. I'm good with the renegade rows but they will be so much harder with heavier weights - I'm definitely going to order these in a minute - and my hamstrings are holding out with full movement. I've got just one more day at this level.

Good news on the hamstrings. I can’t remember what renegade rows look like at all.

L1D6: I had to force myself to do this today, I was feeling quite snoozy after driving back from Cribbs. Most of it felt reasonably easy but having got the 3kg weights handy for the bicep curls I thought I’d use them for the dumbbell rows as well to save changing over and that was a mistake. I think I’m really between 2-3kg there at the moment and going up to 3 meant I was really losing form at the end of the bicep curls. I think I’ll row with 2 and bicep curl 3 tomorrow and see how that goes.

That sounds like a good plan. It's what I plan to do as I know I will manage some with the heavier weight but probably not all.

Renegade rows are planks with alternate rows with hand weights.

Oh yes. I seem to remember those being logistically tricky rather than physically hard IYSWIM.

I read through the shred thread from 2012/2013 last night. There were loads of us and we all sound demented  On the plus side I was discussing moving up from 1kg to 2 so at least I’ve progressed.

 I'll have to have a read. Good to see progression. I ordered 3kg weights so they should arrive by Thursday. W2D5 completed today; all fairly strong. I'm going to the next level tomorrow.

I’ve been reading through the Ripped thread from around the same time too, W3 was the worst :look:

I’ve just ordered the 6 week 6 pack DVD (currently £3.24 on Amazon) so I will probably have a go at that after shred and then ripped (assuming I survive of course.)

Oh no! I'll have to read it to prepare myself. I haven't done it for a long time I can't remember

Great tip on Amazon. I'm copying you - thanks - I was already planning on getting it but hadn't looked for it.

You’re a few days ahead of me, you can let me know what it’s like :))

L1D7: It’s definitely getting easier, it races by as soon as I’m past circuit 1 cardio. I used 3kg for the first set of bicep curls and 2kg for everything else and I think that’s about right for now. Still doing baby press-ups though :)) I should probably try at least one set of grown up ones before I move on.

I will!

I hope you feel the benefit of going up for the curls. I really want my weights here now, I don't think my 3lb ones are posing any challenge as I've got no muscle ache in my arms.

I had a look at that old thread and I was using 2lb weights then but then I was also sometimes double shredding.

My arms have been aching more today so hopefully I’ll see some benefit. At the moment it’s my legs that hurt, I felt a bit unstable getting downstairs

I think my legs might join yours a bit later. I've just done W3D1 - what was that you were saying about W3 - bloody hell, my thighs were screaming (duck walks  ) and I wanted to phone it in. In a way I am phoning it in because I've decided to do 2xW1 and 2xW2 next, then start W3 again. It's sort of putting off the inevitable (having to face W3) but I want to do the previous sessions with my new weights.

Well done! I hope the new weights are good, I’m definitely feeling my biceps today.

I can’t remember what duck walks actually are but I found my description of trying to do them on an old thread and I’m not looking forward to it.

I’m trying to decide whether to have a rest day between levels. It would probably be the best thing to do in terms of fitness but I am interested to see if I can do 30 consecutive days. Although life will probably conspire to stop me anyway.

So are you doing each level 10 times? I will be having breaks as I have been. JM says to do each level 5-6 days per week so I am pretty much doing that.

That’s the plan. The shred dvd doesn’t mention rest days, I think ripped specifically says 5-6 times per week. I’m sure that’s a better way to train but I’m looking at this as a one off challenge.
