Things have slowed down and prices are falling so it may not be a bad thing that we didn’t get that house. Space wise though it was unusual for the area and there aren’t too many like it.

That is crazy Beena, it’s like it was here precrash. People would queue outside new developments to get in and look, and houses that went on the market sold in days.

That’s mad Beena. I thought we were doing well with our viewings but we’re not full yet.

4 viewings today, the first couple offered asking price 10 mins after viewing BUT they haven’t been told about the underpinning so I suspect that will change things. We’re carrying on with viewings anyway - there are another 10 booked in over the next week :faint:

How are the viewings going, Chicky?

We managed to view the fully booked house and decided to put an offer in, despite figuring it would go to seal bids, given they've had a steady stream of people through the door. They accepted :look:, but the agent has come up with every excuse possible to delay taking it off the market. As far as we know, there's been viewings today and will be tomorrow. I figure we're being used as a bargaining chip to get a higher offer.

So sauce for the goose - we're viewing another property tomorrow. £50k cheaper. Ticks as many boxes. Both are need work so the lower price tag is quite appealing.

Ooh Beena! That’s tentatively excellent, although the agents are clearly cheeky feckers. I hope tomorrow’s viewing goes well - is that one new to the market too?

It has been a whirlwind here. We’ve had 9 viewings so far and 4 offers, one significantly above asking price (more than our wildest dreams!). All the offerers are apparently aware of the underpinning* and happy to proceed. We’ve got another 6 viewings between now and Friday too :faint: so we’re going to do those, and then look at all the bids on Monday. The people who offered highest might have to sell their place first whereas at least one of the others are chain free and ready to move so there is a lot to weigh up. It’s just mad. So different to the last time we tried to sell. If all goes ok then we can do the kitchen extension ASAP :disco:

* we’ve also had a surveyor look at the underpinning and confirmed that there hasn’t been any movement since it was done 25 years ago.

We’ve just accepted an offer on our house :disco: buyers are in rented and ready to go. We still have to iron out moving dates but hopefully April.

They do indeed Lora. We were in the utterly bonkers position of having 6 offers, all of them knowing about the underpinning. The market has gone mad! I feel bad for the people we had to say no to though :l:

Ah, they'll find something else (not as nice, obv :shh: ) You could have offered them a commune situation, I suppose :))

I'm glad common sense won out re the underpinning.

Well, one lot of people who made an offer were in a polygamous relationship :look:
