Innit!

I'm so sad for Tamberi, what terrible luck to fall so ill. :(

Such a shame, but I'm now cheering on Kerr for NZ. S (who is in NZ right now, very early in the morning there) and I are messaging updates!

What????!! It’s one of the best things about modern pentathlon. It’s the only horsey sport I like.

Doesn’t the venue for taekwondo look fantastic?

Ahhh, happy for NZ! They've done well today with that and the canoe and something else, if I remember correctly. :)) Last-minute medal rush.

The venues have looked stunning, haven't they? Paris has really done itself proud. Can't wait for the Paras, I'm buying tickets tonight.

NZ also got a gold in the women's golf.

The venues have all looked great.

Oh, and GB got a silver in the artistic swimming (i.e. synchronised swimming)!

I do think it's unfair on the horses, as they're randomly selected then have to jump with a strange rider. But an obstacle course does sound a bit school sports day!

Thats what I like about it, it really tests the skill of the rider.

Hmmm, yes imagining an upturned gym bench, jumping through hula hoops on the floor, walking with a bean bag on your head around some cones then finishing with an egg and spoon race.

The artistic swimming- I have so many questions. Do the judges have access to the cameras under water so they see in as much detail as we do? Where does their make up come from? Do they keep their eyes open under water? How many verrucas do they have?

But most importantly, host the heck do they do they do it all?

How utterly wonderful, these women are an inspiration. I am so thrilled for them, their teams and their mums. So well deserved. I may be crying.

Apparently the pentathlon was devised as a military training regime. So that soldiers would be ready to fight, run, swim and ride any horse they were given.
An obstacle course kind of makes sense in that context.

Kate French (who won gold for GB in Tokyo) has withdrawn from the women's modern pentathlon due to sickness. What a shame.

Could I have some travel advice? I see there is a special Paris 2024 pass for the games and it's 16e per day . Does that cover CDG airport do you know?
