Ideal Homes- Show Us Your New Purchases!
Re: Ideal Homes- Show Us Your New Purchases!
We bought (something like) this bed for H today. Is this the right thread?

I've just ordered this triple pendant to go over our kitchen island. I wanted something a bit more industrial, but the base unit on this is the same size as our current one, so means we don't need to do anything to the ceiling.

I love that Flora, where from please? I need a new dining room light and that would go really well, it's lovely.

I love the triple pendant, Flora. That's more my taste than the light I bought for my foyer. But I think it will work as the entryway is a bit fussier than the rest of my house, which is more transitional. (I think)

What does transitional mean Five? I like your lights Flora, are they ceramic?
After weeks of emails with ikea (they couldn't cope with me using the same email address to order stuff in the US when I'd used it to order from their UK site
) I've finally been able to order a desk:

I also found the mirror I bought in a shop in Capitol Hill is now for sale in Anthropologie (at twice the price!) it's still not on the wall though

I spotted this in TJ Maxx today and obviously I couldn't leave it, not when it was a bargain price ($29!). I had a hard time choosing between red and orange but I thought this would work with grey and navy. It's cheering me right up:

Lovely! I'm trying to convince MrMcLip to change our cushions.

I think it just means it's a mix between traditional and contemporary design, or at least that's how I understand it.emma_p wrote:What does transitional mean Five?
I love that cushion, it's the perfect color.

I love the orange cushion. Do you think in $ now? I remember having to convert the other way round in my head when I got back to the UK but it didn't last long.

I love the idea of orange, grey and navy.
I bought this in Sainsburys the other day:

I know they're ten a penny these days, but I love it.
It has gone with my expanding collection of glass receptacles:

We've been talking about the kitchen loads in the last couple of days, and think we might create a larder. I've always wanted one and it would make perfect sense with our layout. I'm excited
. maybe I should put fairy lights in it a la Nigella.
We've only got about half the money we need so far though

I've always wanted a larder too, how exciting you think you can incorporate one
I like your glass domes. I noticed my friend had one on her shelf yesterday with a model White House in it. It looked really cute!

Emma - it's just white glass.
I love that cake stand, I could really do with something like that.

Wouldn't it be lovely. My nan and grandad had a pantry and I loved playing in there
It also solves the awkward end of our kitchen problem.

Utensil pot
Russian doll style food prep/storage pots
Not J&J, but I got this new moka a couple of weeks ago after I ruined my last one in the dishwasher. Have I posted it already? Quite possibly

Finally, the lamp that I tried to buy in person at two local shops this weekend (and failed), but ended up ordering online today. Japanese designed paper table lamp that I will put on my other bedside table. I have been thinking about this for months since i saw it in a shop in Portland, so I am glad it will soon be mine
