Re: Geocaching
Yep. I do that quite a lot, if only to save on my 4G.

Re: Geocaching
It was a success! When until a technical hitch, anyway. We found three of the four we went looking for but the fourth was in such an overgrown area it was a bit much for the boys. Then my phone died and although I'd remembered the pocket battery pack, I forgot the cable! Div. As it was, it was enough walking for the little legged one and now it's raining anyway. We set the travel bug free and now J's all up for sending out our own bugs. We'll do the last four in my loop later in the week.

Re: Geocaching
This image is to solve a puzzle, it's a pic of signs on or in shops in Bath. I've got most of them but not the iR top left or the R 4th from left on the bottom row (which is particularly bugging me as it looks familiar and I just can't place it). Can anyone put me out of my misery?

Re: Geocaching
I can't help with that, but this thread has made me resolve to get back into it in general. I think I may suggest taking the kids the Calke at the weekend, I bet there are a few there.

Re: Geocaching
Apparently we're going again tomorrow, so I'm told. Also, the travel bug we recirculated yesterday has already been collected.

I think it is! Brilliant! That will be in the window of All Saints. Thank you
ETA Clearly it is. I posted before you'd added the pic.

Re: Geocaching
Well done Cerise! Did you get the other one yet, Tex?
We found our first one this morning. I think we need to go further afield than the end of our road to find something interesting though.

I keep looking at that puzzle, Tex. I can recognise Debenhams, Boots, Vans and Singer but no more. I assume they're all mainstream shops and not independent ones.
What do people use for finding waypoints? Is there another app?

Re: Geocaching
Four out of four this morning! We couldn't find the third so went for the fourth and, as we wandered past number three on the way home, had another go. We were out for two hours without complaint!

The "it" is a local one, I think the lit up E is also location specific.Cerise wrote:I keep looking at that puzzle, Tex. I can recognise Debenhams, Boots, Vans and Singer but no more. I assume they're all mainstream shops and not independent ones.

Do you mean adding waypoints to the map? If you go into "Navigate to cache" make sure you're on map view not compass and press the three dots top right. You should get an option to add waypoint.

You have to find the exact word featured in each picture, count the number of letters in it and plug it into a formula.

Re: Geocaching
Mine are the least stealthy catchers ever. Luckily people generally don't pay much attention to small children arsing about.
