We’ve been having a rather boring half term here. J came down with Covid Wednesday before it started, and didn’t test negative until day 7, and then Mr L tested positive on Tuesday. As Mr L was in charge of half term childcare, it meant I was then responsible for two family members in isolation, childcare for the 8 year old with ADHD, cooking, delivering meals/snacks/cups of tea on trays, exercising the dog and doing all the household chores while also working full time. :lg: Luckily my boss has been very understanding!

Chicky, I had a really horrible cold a few weeks ago. I had a PCR test done a few days after it started, and then did LFTs (the throat ones) every other day for the next week, and all of them were negative. I'd not had a cold for two years and it was a doozy!

I have a mild sore throat and very occasional productive cough, which developed last night. I appear to have a very faint positive, so I’ve booked a PCR drive through test for this afternoon.

I was supposed to go for a pub roast at lunchtime with some friends for a belated birthday celebration, and I was really looking forward to the cauliflower cheese 🙁

I wasn’t fully sure it’s positive though, as I’ve not had a positive before and it’s really faint. There were plenty of slots available so I thought it best to check.

There’s no lack of appetite or taste which is preventing me from currently making inroads on a bag of popchips.

If you do have it, Hippy, you're in esteemed company as the Queen has it too, apparently.

That’s a line, Your Maj :)

I don’t think losing your sense of taste or smell is an Omicron symptom (only about 20% of people, apparently) so fingers crossed you get to enjoy your cauliflower cheese before too long.

That is definitely a line, Hippy. You could do another to check but I'd take that as a definite positive and report it as such but no need to faff about with a PCR.

If that appeared in under 30 mins, it’s a positive.

PCR was, unsurprisingly, positive. Ah, well.

I’ve a sore throat, plus occasional cough. I slept OK. Suppose I ought to get up and do the Track and Trace stuff shortly.

So that’s it then, covid is over.

“From Thursday, the legal requirement to self-isolate after a positive Covid test will be removed in England, Boris Johnson announces.”

FFS. i am just hoping my employer is sensible and continues to provide tests and ask people to self-isolate when they test positive. Not that people are going to test ever again though :ruby:

The website has already changed to one pack every three days. I did just successfully order some though.

I was just coming to check if this was true! So if you test positive you can continue to go about your business?!

I ordered some this morning before this changed. I wonder if I'll be able to order tomorrow.

I tried to order this morning but it wouldn’t let me because I’d ordered in the last 72hrs.
