I made pasta after sorting out my cupboards and realising I had a lot of 00 flour. I’d forgotten how lovely and silky fresh pasta is

We followed up pasta alla norma with tiramisu. I used my 70s style Spanish terracotta dish. G’s friend ate 3 helpings!!

It really was! I had two helpings and now need a peppermint tea :)) It’s Alison Roman’s tiramisu recipe but with vin santo for the booze (because I had some open).

I am about to make buttermilk pancakes for breakfast (delayed from pancake day) and need ideas to use up the rest of the buttermilk, so cheese scones might be a good shout for that! Are those a specific recipe, purps?
Other ideas include a lemon and lime cake and/or some sort of tempura type thing with a buttermilk batter. I will have about 600ml or so to use up.

I love a cheese scone they look great, warm with lots of butter and a touch of mustard.
S made me a cake all by herself for my birthday (I did the oven bit and the washing up!)

I was really touched she was adamant she wanted to “do it all” and chose the cake as she knows I’m not a massive cake lover but love anything lemon flavoured.
I did keep getting a few worrying questions like “a tbs is sort of the same as a tsp isn’t it mum?!”
