In complete contrast, mine is neither strange nor usual, just very disappointing.

When we were looking to buy, this was my dream road. It is just so leafy and lovely and all the houses have huge gardens. However it's been hit by developers who are knocking down the semi-affordable mid-century bungalows and building identikit McMansions, sometimes 2-3 on a single plot. Local wages don't support them so they're shut up apart from Christmas and a couple of weeks in the summer. It's a shame.

This one went up over lockdown (we wanted to view next door when that came on the market, but were too late). They've obviously spent a fortune, but some of their design choices :shake:

Second homes, Sal. Yes, I think so. We have a few walking routes through the local villages and with the larger properties, you only see cars outside or lights on a few times a year. It's obvious which are homes and which aren't.

I think a family do live in this one, but the property we wanted to view next door was ripped down and a mirror image of this property is going up on the plot so I suspect there's some amateur developing going on. Our previous neighbours did the same - bought a property on the river, popped 3 houses on, kept one and sold the other two for a £million each.

I’m such a basic bitch, I like the new one that replaced the bungalow. The bits and pieces left out for pics bothered me though.
