She’s a sweetheart, I love Staffies! (I owned 3, years back…)

My poor Elsie (was Alice) is still stuck in Romania thanks to our stupid government blocking imports of dogs, cats and ferrets. The ban is til 14 May, not a clue what they’ll do after that… meanwhile, she’s having a jolly nice time with about 20 other dogs and living in her fosterer’s house rather than being stuck in a kennel…

Ripley is settling in very well. A few accidents, which is to be expected but otherwise is doing very well.

This is her keeping my company in the office while I wfh, and her enjoying her first roast dinner

Hello… yes! She’s leaving Romania on 17 May so should arrive with me either in the Friday or Saturday! I’ve taken the following 2 weeks off as pawternity leave to get her decompressed, settled and used to everything. It’s a bit of a worry as I’ve never met her but I’ve been sent loads of photos and videos and I think I’ve got the measure of her temperament and how she is with other dogs (absolutely fine - phew!)

I am in an utter rage. The government’s ban has now been extended til the 9 July, so Elsie’s transport is cancelled.

For the same reason - some dogs are coming over that are a health risk due to rabies, not vet checked etc.

Elsie and all the others from the charity are chipped, checked, have had rabies shots and have clean valid pet passports. They are as unrisky as it’s possible to be.

I’m looking at driving over and collecting her, if the charity can meet me in France 😞

Today marks a year since I met Rosco and brought him home. It's been life-changing for both of us and I can't believe how lucky I am to have him.

Thank you all so much for your support and advice and patience. I didn't entirely think I could do this and I might have faltered without the belief from TMT and real life people.

Today we celebrated with a special brunch. One of us had a sausage!

I think I have pretty much summarised our first year together here:

Rosco is such a lovely boy. I would love to see your video, Lils, but it's marked 'private'.
