96 squares of fabric to be sewn together? Blimey, that sounds tough

It's quite a challenge in the limited time available.

I love Brogan’s fruity jacket. Debra’s is beautifully sewn and I love the placement on Jill’s
Those are phenomenal for 4.5 hours.

I'm a few minutes behind as French class overran as usual, but I'm impressed with Brogan and Debra's patchwork. I'm assuming that the squares they were given were accurately cut and that they had a quarter inch foot.

Coats into... coats? I don't really get the point of this challenge.

Am I allowed to say how much I love Marnie's shirt?

Maxi dresses are fabulous. All the shops here are full of dresses that stop mid shin- mega frump on me!

I'm 5' 2.5" on a good day; everything in the shops is too long on me!Hazey_Jane wrote: ↑Wed May 18, 2022 9:46 pm Maxi dresses are fabulous. All the shops here are full of dresses that stop mid shin- mega frump on me!
Those were the right decisions on both counts. Gill's design was brilliant and the execution was really good. I'm so fed up of mediocre men taking up box-ticking places and pushing out talented women.

I loved the maxi dresses. I agree the coat challenge was a bit pointless. Steve had outlived his time and had to go.

I meant regardless of height (though I'm probably 5'8" or 5'9", I never remember how tall I am, I think it's 177cm) all the dresses I see are deliberately designed to stop between the knee and ankle.I liked this at first from C&A, it if was ankle length I know it would look lovely but because of wear it stops it's so frumpy. model is 181cmrosy wrote: ↑Wed May 18, 2022 10:18 pmI'm 5' 2.5" on a good day; everything in the shops is too long on me!Hazey_Jane wrote: ↑Wed May 18, 2022 9:46 pm Maxi dresses are fabulous. Whereas when I want a maxi I purposefully choose a below knee length on everyone else as it will definitely be a maxi on me.
Ankle length dresses are normally 6” too long.

I like a maxi to be a maxi, not midi or mixi. I did like Steve's made to measure, but he was out of his depth.

I did love Gill’s maxi, in fact there were some great ones there, and agree it was time Steve went.

I think most of those maxi dresses looked exactly how you would imagine dresses made out of duvet covers to look. However Brogan's really embraced that so I quite liked it.

Re: Great British Sewing Bee is back
I’ve starred watching the Repair Shop before Sewing Bee and this week there’s been a bit of crossover between the shows as they’ve been repairing a stuffed toy dragon. Worth catching up with.

I’ve caught up with the episodes I’d missed and I really love Brogan.
