I want to hear more about the rest of your outfit! Will you wear that nice black dress? And will there be food? Thinking about it I would be grateful to have a hairband as it's a running joke with my friend - who invites me for roast lunch very often - that I always grab one of those grab clips from my bag to hold my hair back so as to not impede the course of fork to mouth.

Thanks all for the comments on the dress - I wore it on Thursday and got lots of compliments, but I still think I might get the straps slimmed down a bit if a seamstress can do it.

S was dispatched to buy the headband while has in town today. I hope he picked the right one up! I'll give it to Liv after as she loves a hairband and has quite the collection.

Dics, I'm planning on wearing a vintage ;) silk Orla Kiely dress which is black with large blue, brown and white spots (it's not obviously Orla), black tights, black heels (!) and a black wool coat. I'll try to do a photo. I think I only need a bag now. I seem to have a lot of cross-body and I think maybe a clutch or shoulder bag in tan or blue. I might see if I can hire one unless I can find one I love and will use again.

I saw the comment about Orla ;) but don’t worry, I am over her! I got rid of anything obv Orla after she treated her staff so badly. He did get the right band! He thinks it looks like something Anne Boleyn might wear

Guys, guys, guys, where are we with (tailored) bootcut trousers for work now? Everybody is selling them nowadays, and they’re much less munty on my thighs than skinnies, but hardly anybody is wearing them still.

I edited because it was not necessary to say. I've mentioned every time her name is brought up that I can't stand the actual human behind the brand and I realised I need to get over it and stop repeating myself.

My instinct says no to a bootcut but I would be prepared to see a modern example and have my mind changed. I don't think I've seen a contemporary version in the flesh. I loved them back in the day.

I'm sure you don't look Lego though. I haven't bought clothes for years now as I've barely left the house so I don't know why I'm getting involved everywhere.
