They're not rogue primroses? They get everywhere.

They're bigger than sage, maybe 10-12cm for the largest leaves.

Oh, just saw your primrose comment, no, I don't think so. They've only just popped up and look quite diff to the primroses I have. As ever I probably just need to be patient and wait a bit longer. :ella:

Ah! I get growing all over. You can make a foul smelling liquid from it to feed the garden.

I am scared to open the comfrey feed bucket. It's been lurking in a hedge since last year.

I sowed more Broad beans, sweetcorn, turnips, chard, romanesco, red cabbage, cauliflowers, regular broccoli, and sprouting broccoli. I've also moved some daffs, and planted out some lettuce.

Ooh thank you! I might get one of these, I've been idly eyeing them up in various shops.

I made comfrey tea and got scared of it many years ago. :))

I think I'm looking at (raised beds) a 1.2 x 1.4 (with space to walk all round), and a 0.6 x 1.8 (up against the fence), but I need to double check. I am bad with measurements, I need to draw it on the ground and make sure it's right. :))

Don't forget the OUTDOOR40 code for 40% off!

I am terrible at measurements, I can't plan for shit. I've no idea if all my seedlings and veg will fit :))

I'm tiptoeing into this thread as I'm gradually improving the grounds of Gerbil Towers. My neighbour dug some borders for me when I moved in, but I really wanted green borders with lots of old fashioned flowers and shrubs to attract wildlife. I had a proper gardener to dig one border and the other one will be done in a couple of weeks. My parents brought over plants from their own garden.

In this one I have rosemary, chives, campurnia (?), some grasses and cotoneaster. I'll get some more herbs too. Similar in the other border but that will have nerenes. I have sweet peas to train up the garage, just need to get a trellis, and a wallflower and some more campurna whatever it is in the wall opposite the house.

I have tadpoles in my pond too!

I'm feeling pretty dire for no good reason but even just half an hour in the garden did me no end of good. Doctors ought to prescribe it!

Here are some before and afters. It will look much better when everything is in, obviously!

Wildlife section and new border

I know it all looks a mess but it's going to be gorgeous when it develops. I can't stop looking at it, as if something will sprout when my back is turned.

That's looking fabulous Baa. I was shamed into doing some seed planting by my lovely neighbour who asked if I need more pots, so at least I've got going and will try and do most of the rest next weekend.

And it will sprout when you're not looking Lily - esp if you have the same mild and rainy week forecast that I do! Do you know shar your multi-stemmed tree is?

Im annoyed my mystery leaves are not something more exciting, but thank you for the ID; I don't think I'll be making the tea. :lg:

I go and stare at my seedlings at least twice a day, and perambulate around the garden to see what's been occurring :))

Health professionals can prescribe time in the RHS garden near Manchester! I can prescribe time on a King's Lynn or Yarmouth allotment, just the same thing

The trees are ashes. I'm still debating whether to get rid of one but I've got a bit of a Thing about cutting down trees. It feels like poking Mother Nature in the eye with a stick (ironically).

It's a bloody brilliant idea Baa! We ought to set up allotments for people who can't afford their own. Community ones.

I love walking round the garden and looking to see if anything has changed - a book I'm reading talks about observation being a key gardening skill, which I'm up for.

Why would you get rid of them, Lily? To have something different? I'd love some fruit trees but don't have space unless I lose others.

It's why I like watering by hand. I notice the changes (and all the jobs that need doing).

Did you see last week's Gardeners World where they went to a community garden and talked to some teens who were there as a sort of therapy, they were all young carers. One said that being there just for an hour made her calm and happy. :love2: I can definitely understand that. I think I'm still a bit stung from having to let my old garden "go" when my parents were ill and there wasn't time for everything and somethings had to give. Gardens are so wonderful when you feel like you're conducting them like an orchestra, but I found watching it fall out of my control really upsetting. I'm a bit scared of that still. But the love is coming back, I'm just a bit weirdly cautious of getting too involved. :))

Lily, it's going to be gorgeous. Tadpoles!!

I have a love/hate relationship with my garden.

I actually managed to plant some seeds today: sunflowers, French beans and marigolds.
