Oh Lily, it's so lovely to see him grow visibly in confidence and see his body language become more and more engaged and relaxed. :love2: What a year you've both had. Today is also the anniversary of Joy leaving us, and it makes me oddly happy that at the same time it was just the start of Rosco's happiness. Balance in the universe and such. :))

That’s beautiful, Lily!

You did a lovely thing by taking Rosco into your life and I’m sure you’ve benefitted as much as he has 🥰

Thank you all. It is wonderful to see the change in him over the year. I didn't appreciate how scared and hunched up he was in his bed early on until I went through all the photos. The change in the way he lay was a real turning point. I keep watching it and welling up.

Goat, that's poignant. Dear Joy. X

Reading through this as we could be looking a getting a dog. Rufus seems to be better with dogs than cats and Mr Speedy is working from home fulltime. We've owned rescue dogs together in the past.
At the moment the local RSPCA & Dogs Trust have nothing suitable but there is a Romanian doggo. He came over here as a puppy but he's been in foster care in a neighbouring county for the last six months. He's not one that has to have another dog in the household and is very good with cats. We're waiting till all the garden work is done though.

Oh he is so lovely! what's his name? It's good to have one who's come from a foster home as they are more settled. I'd love to foster dogs from Romania but it's just impossible with fulltime work. A shame as Schnook would be the perfect foster brother.

I note his curly tail; a woman in the park last week came up and asked if Schnook was Romanian as apparently all Romanians have the curly tail!

He's called Ricky!
This is current decription but some of it dates back to when his was six months old and he's a year now.

Ricky is a lovely natured dog. He is friendly, confident, affectionate and very intelligent. He loves cuddling and playing with humans, is ok with men and has responded well to adult and child visitors to his foster home by saying hello and having a fuss straight away. He has been playing nicely with the resident dogs in his foster home and is good at sharing his space, toys, and food. He does need more socializing; he’s still a puppy and he doesn’t fully understand dog etiquette yet, but he’s a quick learner. He was living with cats in Romania and he is brilliant with them; he likes to say hello but he is gentle and respectful of their boundaries. Ricky is a very clever pup, he is quick to learn and has already picked up commands such as ‘down’ and ‘stay’. He is now practicing recall and walking on a lead, and he is acing both! He is naturally laid back and not scared by humans interacting with him; he is a fantastic pup to train and will benefit from plenty of intellectual stimulation. He is house trained and well behaved, but he is only young with lots of puppy energy and will need further guidance from his family. Ricky is a wonderful, fun dog and will bring so much joy to any home. His fosterer said "𝙃𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙜𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙙 𝙖 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙩 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙮 𝙩𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙮. 𝙃𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙚𝙧, 𝙙𝙞𝙙𝙣’𝙩 𝙗𝙖𝙧𝙠 𝙖𝙩 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚, 𝙜𝙤𝙩 𝙤𝙣 𝙬𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙙𝙤𝙜𝙨 𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚. 𝙃𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙣 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙟𝙪𝙢𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙪𝙥 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙖𝙮 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙤.

Ricky was rehomed before the garden was finished. However, we went to a Romanian dog coffee morning last Saturday and met loads of dogs. Kept losing track of who was who as there were quite a few there! Had a home check earlier this week and just need to make one hopefully easy change. Now just a case of waiting for the right dog.

Fingers crossed, Speedy! Do you have your eye on one in particular?

I love the idea of a dog coffee morning. Can you link to it please? It's a nice idea to share with Rosco's dog rescue.
