I've got Cazalets No4 to start at some point Pip - I'm not raring to go as I've got less into them as the series has gone on.

I've read Tomorrow, Tomorrow etc Sal! I really enjoyed it and was fascinated by the creative and story/ world building parts of computer gaming which I'd never really appreciated before - I did think it had one plot twist too many though.

Yes, I agree about that. I enjoyed the gaming stuff more than I thought I would, given that I've never played any computer games in my life!

I'm reading Lessons by Ian McEwan, its very Ian McEwan.

Hack your hormones by Davinia Taylor. I hate the title as the work hack triggers me :lol: and her style is quite abrasive but the book is very informative and has given me a few a ha lightbulb moments. If you’re struggling with low mood, low energy, peri menopause etc, this book may give you some answers.

She was also on Gabby Logan’s podcast- the midlife - talking about it as well if you don’t want to buy the book.

The House with the Golden Door - follow up to The Wolf Den which I've only just got round to reading. The third one in the trilogy is out in November apparently so I've pre-ordered it.

I picked up Wolf Den for 99p on Kobo on the strength of 'Flora mentioned it and what she likes is usually worth a go') and I am RACING through. It's thoroughly enjoyable so far. Thanks. :))

I might try the hormones book. I have a HRT meds review on Tuesday and am mostly just inclined to sit there and moan 'I'M SO TIRED, GIVE ME BETTER DRUGS.'

Try it Bats. It’s written alongside GP advice. My next supplement of choice is going to be L Theanine as she swears by it for calming the system. HRT is not a cure all and doesn’t suit everyone. It didn’t do anything for me and I’ve learnt this is all to do with your GABA response.

Grady Hendrix - How to sell a haunted house. I've just started this and like all his books it's going to be a fun read.

That's one of my favourite reads this year. Loved it!

I finished it and loved every second. The brother and sister situation is very much like my family dynamic although I don't think we'll ever get a haunting to sort it out but never say never.

Perhaps a little less violent too. :lol: When I read it I had just returned from a trip to Charleston, so I understood most of the local references, which made it extra good. If you haven't already, try The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires.

My recent reads are The Reading List. Ihad it for ages and thought it would be naff from the cover :)) but saw Wendy read it recently so I opened it up and really enjoyed it. Plus I know the area having grown up in Hanwell. I did think the end a bit too twee but overall I loved it and it made me sad and happy.

Then I'm terrible for remembering things so can only go by my star rating.

I've read a couple of books over the last two weeks:

This Ragged Grace - Octavia Bright. Memoir about her recovery from alcohol addiction and her father's descent into Altzheimer's - beautifully, beautifully written although she is a massive overthinker and also clearly a lot more intellectual than I am!

A Man Called Over - loved this (and him) - it's been sat on my kindle for ages, and I've only just got around to reading it.

I just finished Truth or Dare by MJ Arlidge and it was mostly excellent. I just felt the main character of DI Grace had become a bit superficial. I'm now reading the next book in the series, Cat and Mouse.

I heard someone on Claudia Winkleman's radio show on Saturday talking about looking at the sky in the early morning. I'll have to listen to it again to get the details.

I have also just bought a Christopher Isherwood for 99p, on the strength of Bean and Ruby's chat above.

I genuinely love Christopher Isherwood's writing. It made me obsessed with Weimar Germany at an impressionable age. Last year I read a passage from Mr Norris Changes Trains to my Year 11s on World Book Day in the hope of lighting a similar fire but unfortunately it bored the bejesus out of them. :lol: I felt their rejection very personally.
