I'm watching this now . The delusions are staggering. 'My idea of Hell would be Aberystwyth'Mountain Goat wrote: ↑Sun Feb 25, 2024 4:57 pm ISN'T IT BRILLIANT?! Everyone is such a snob. I liked the couple who considered coasters frightfully common. And the one who tiled up only one of the two alcoves to be a bit different.

Thanks for the heads up, Goat. This will see me through until Big Brother starts this evening :))

Yes, definitely now but perhaps even more so then when most people in a particular town would be shopping from the same two department stores? I remember very well when my mum got a new set of crockery and was so pleased with it until Deidre Barlow got the same one.

The Barlow kiss of death :)). To be fair, I was definitely put off a sweatshirt I had in the 90s when Janice Battersby started wearing one.
The editing in this is brilliant. 'We feel that whilst we're cheating a bit with our MFI Georgian fireplace, we are probably getting away with it' - cut to mansion with actual Georgian fireplace :)).

Yes, yes I know the pool's a state and that any renovation and subsequent running costs will be horrendous but I'm in absolute, head over heels,

It is stunning; I love Art Deco houses so much! I can just imagine having pre-dinner cocktails on the terrace in the summer.

Oh, I want that house!
Also, I'm always curious to see if these houses ever featured in a Suchet Poirot. :)) I don't think this is one that has.

I love that house. Something about it reminds me of my paternal grandmother. She's been gone over 40 years, now. I don't know why, but I could see her living in it. Love that period.

This could be really nice, but screams "money pit".

No photos of the interior + bad health of current owners leads me to think the house broke them.
