I've just finished Milk Fed by Melissa Broder - very weird and quite grubby to be honest, but very readable and I really enjoyed it, especially as it's not like anything I would normally read. Massive trigger warning for eating disorders though. I'm not even sure why I had it on my to read pile - I think it was from a podcast ages ago and then I spotted it in the library and picked it up.

Thank you for the recommendation - I’ve just picked it up for 99p on KindleElya wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 10:06 pmI love TPSofL - but not quite as much as The Magician’s Assistant!Edith Bacon wrote: ↑Sun May 22, 2022 8:31 pm You guys are really selling that Greenwich Park to me
I finished The Other Side of the Bridge (loved it) and have started The Patron Saint of Liars by Anne Patchett. I really enjoyed The Dutch House a year or two ago and this one is shaping up very nicely too.

I finished The House With The Golden Door and it was ace, I can't wait for the third book.
Speaking of which, the third book in the Belle Sauvage trilogy is coming out in September, apparently.
Now I'm on 84 Charing Cross Road and it's lovely.

I've read all the Bridgertons now. The last one was truly, appallingly bad. I quite liked the one about Hyacinth as it had some redeeming humour.

I’m glad I know now because I had wondered if they were worth it.
I finished Ariadne, and needing something else but not feeling inspired, I’m rereading Aunts Aren’t Gentlemen.

I didn't realise she was Alan Rusbridger's daughter, I bet that helped!

Yes, I think she’s done well with connections. I also thought it was a rushed cop out ending and it annoyed me. It just totally flipped and I didn’t spot many breadcrumbs for it and that made it less believable. But I also recognise I envy her quite a lot.

I’ve just given up on Three Things About About Elsie via Audible but see a couple of Turtles liked it back in 2018.
Ken, you said the below and it was the “this is a mystery” thing that put me off. I’ve already spoilered myself though.

I previously read Say Her Name, which I think was a kindle freebie. It killed a couple of hours but was nothing special.I've finished Three Things About Elsie. I found the 'this is a mystery!' style a bit annoying at first but it really grew on me and has nearly made me cry on the train.

I got a bit excited at the library on Friday, taking out 6 books, and started Rizzio this morning.

Re: Book Notes
I finished the following:
Circe - loved it, have no idea why I couldn't take to it previously
The 7 ages of death - Richard Shepherd - again a really interesting book well written
The Ambitious Card - John Gaspard - this was an Audible freebie and it's a cosy mystery. It gave me a break from the usual hard-hitting thrillers I pick up.
Dead Men's Trousers - Irvine Welsh - I had no idea that transporting was part of a series and I'm not a huge fan of drugs as a lifestyle sort of thing but this was hilarious.
I'm reading The Book Thief - Markus Zusak and finding it really dull, does it pick up at any point?

I speed read Stepping Up by Sarah Turner which was all it needed. Goodreads was judging me about being behind on my target.

I learned the word "arsloch", that's about all I can remember.
I'm starting Big Sky now and I'm worried what I'll do without any more Jackson Brodie books to come.
